Rob Corddry continues the cinematic success of former “Daily Show” correspondents with his latest film, PROJECT A, and his first starring role. Ben Stiller (a co-star of Corddry’s in THE HEARTBREAK KID) is producing the film for New Line about a government experiment that winds up creating the world’s biggest jerk. Corddry had some quality big screen time this spring with supporting roles in HAROLD AND KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY and WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS but PROJECT A would be his first time as a lead. PROJECT A has been floating around Hollywood for years and Corddry said, “it’s always been the first thing I ask my agents and managers about.” Unfortunately for him, they told him, “Go open a movie first!” Oh those rascally agents. PROJECT was written by Etan Cohen, a writer on Ben Stiller’s upcoming comedy epic TROPIC THUNDER. Proving he’s no one trick pony, Corddry will take a step into the dramatic with Oliver Stone’s W, where he’ll play former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. No word on when filming on PROJECT A might begin.
