Seems like only yesterday that I wrote about Dante Tomaselli’s TORTURE CHAMBER kicking into high gear and starting production. Well, it wasn’t yesterday as it turns out, it was over two damn months ago. Sheesh – time is passing by on a f*cking speedboat.
In any event, TORTURE CHAMBER has wrapped after a brief 19 day shoot. The site Cathode Ray Misson caught up with Dante and had themselves a little chat with the man. An overall interesting interview, I’ll just give you one piece of it; here’s Tomaselli speaking about the shooting schedule and the film itself:
“19 days. 19 never-ending days…or nights…or mornings. After a while I had no idea what time it was. Filming was intense, sometimes painful, shooting for hours on end in mines and darkened underground tunnels, constantly fighting against the clock. I loved every minute of it. I am electrified now. As you know, as everyone knows, I’ve been foaming-at-the-mouth to create another movie. It’s never easy to get to the point of actually doing it. I am very pleased with the footage. It’s chock full of scare sequences. Torture Chamber has a new horrific energy, more serious and brutal, more shadowy, tactile and frightening.”
Well, that all sounds quite good to me! For the full interview, click it right HERE.
TORTURE CHAMBER stars Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), Ed Neal (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Lynn Lowry (The Crazies), Marilyn Burns (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Christie Sanford (Desecration).
Here’s the plot synopsis: 13-year-old Jimmy Morgan is possessed by an evil too powerful to be exorcised by any priest. One year after his own brother, Father Mark Morgan, nearly died in the attempt, Jimmy is back with a vengeance—and an army of horribly burned children who follow his every murderous desire. The town of Smithville trembles in fear as Jimmy and his deadly young followers attack and abduct its residents—innocent and guilty alike—dragging their victims to an abandoned castle and subjecting them to grisly torments deep within its catacombs. Those who discover the terrible secret behind the disappearances and deaths don’t live long enough to tell it. The teacher, the doctor, the detective, even Jimmy’s own brother and mother, will all confront their fates in the Torture Chamber.
