Darabont Breaks Law

JoBloJoBlo

Frank Darabont will always have a special place close to my heart, where it’s warm and sunny and rainbows happen. He directed THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION which is one of my (and many of yours I assume) favorite films of all time. So any Darabont news is big news in my books, even though he hasn’t directed anything that I’ve liked since (I couldn’t see THE MIST because I hate insects).

For reasons unknown, Mr. Darabont has abandoned his latest directorial effort LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. The film stars Jamie Foxx as a regular citizen who exacts revenge on the criminals who killed his wife and child, and the legal system that let them get away. Gerard Butler plays a an assistant D.A. caught in the middle. It’s not yet certain how Darabont’s departure will affect the film, but let’s hope it still gets made because there’s nothing like a vigilante film done right.
