Earlier today we learned Billy Burke has been promoted within the ranks of “Revolution,” the J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke sci-fi thriller set up at NBC. Burke had originally tapped to play Marine character called Bass in the pilot episode, but has since been given the lead of Miles. Fret not though, the studio has quickly found a replacement for the vacated part…

TV Line has it “The Cape” star David Lyons (above) has joined “Revolution,” the pilot being directed by Jon Favreau. As mentioned, Lyons will play Bass, a charismatic Marine. Word also has it Maria Howell (“The Vampire Diaries,” below) has also joined the series, set to play Grace, regal and fiercely intelligent supporting character.

Scripted by Eric Kripke:

A family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.

Tim Guinee, Zak Orth, Tracy Spiridakos, Graham Rodgers, Giancarlo Esposito and Anna Lise Phillips have also been cast in the pilot.
