Dawn/Dead 3D!

Don’t panic, this isn’t a sequel to that dreadful NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3-D piece of filth; this isn’t even Zack Snyder’s DAWN in 3-D. Nope, this is the best one, the 1978 George Romero classic we’re talking about. A company called In-Three will be using a process known as “dimensionalization” to convert the great flick into 3-D. A theatrical release is planned, although the time-frame is uncertain at the moment.

I’ll let the article in Hollywood Reporter tell you the technical mumbo-jumbo: In-Three uses patented software tools and techniques to create a second camera image from a 2-D image. Each frame is “dimensionalized,” meaning that all objects are moved forward or backward from the screen or in relation to one another so as to achieve the desired dramatic effect.

TIM BURTON’S NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is the only previous 2-D film to get this workover.

I know, I can’t believe it either…
