DC unveils Doom Patrol premiere date, shares new teaser, posters

Before the Christmas holiday consumes us all, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television have given DC fans the gift of knowing the official premiere date for DOOM PATROL. Would you like to know what it is? Of course you would! Tis the season and all that jazz. The live-action superhero series will make its DC Universe debut on February 15, 2019, just one day after Cupid goes full-Hawkeye on the world's Valentine lovers.

In addition to the premiere date reveal, the studio also shared a brief and goofy teaser for the upcoming series, which stars Matt Bomer (MAGIC MIKE, IN TIME) as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser (CRASH, MONKEYBONE) as Cliff Steele/Robotman, and Timothy Dalton (FLASH GORDON, HOT FUZZ) as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief. Making up the rest of the team are April Bowlby (THE SLAMMIN' SALMON, THE BIG BANG THEORY) as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) as Crazy Jane, and Joivan Wade (THE FIRST PURGE, DOCTOR WHO) as Victor Stone/Cyborg.

In the teaser, we find one of the strangest teams to ever be assembled on the comic page posing for a "family" photo, albeit awkwardly. While the tease is quite brief, and doesn't offer anything in the way of action, its goofy tone does hint at the idea of DOOM PATROL being lighter in tone than TITANS, the first live-action offering from DC Universe.

For DC Universe's DOOM PATROL, a ragtag group of heroes are ushered into a plethora of otherworldly adventures by order of Dr. Niles Caulder. As a part of their origin, each member of the team was given their powers courtesy of unspeakable accidents, leaving them disfigured and haunted by questions related to their own identity. In recent times, DOOM PATROL was rebooted by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and artist Nick Derington for the Young Animal comic book imprint.

But wait, there's more! Alongside the official premiere date and teaser trailer, DC Universe unleashed a batch of new character images for DOOM PATROL as well.

Feast your eyes:

DOOM PATROL will premiere exclusively on DC Universe beginning on February 15, 2019.
