Deadworld movie in the works

A new production company called Framelight Prods. has optioned a few interesting graphic novel titles, some of which you may have heard of (I, personally, have not).

DR. DETH WITH KIP AND MUFFY, SINS OF THE FALLEN, DEADWORLD, and 1001 ARABIAN NIGHTS are all projects on the slate of Framelight – all budgeted in the $20-80 million range.

If you’ve not heard of any of these titles, let me fill you in:

DEADWORLD is yet another zombie opus, as the dead (including a chopper-riding corpse named King Zombie!) walk the Earth in order to make life fairly unpleasant for the living.

DR. DETH is supposedly about “A fun-loving bunch of mutant
killers just doing their thing.”

SINS OF THE FALLEN is based on the premise that history’s greatest evildoers are actually escaped fallen angels, bent on releasing their brothers from Hell.

And of course 1001 ARABIAN NIGHTS is an updated version of the classic tale.

The execs at Framelight are promising that the original creators of these works will be highly involved in all projects. “We don’t want to traditionally option a title; we want to partner with the creator on every aspect of the production,” said Robert Robinson Jr.

Producer Jeffrey Erb adds: “We weren’t the only producers wanting to make movies based on these creators’ babies, but we were the only ones inviting them in as co-producers.”
