If you’re going to go see a movie called DEATH RACE you want to see a few things: a) some hot action, b) some insane car chases, c) Joan Allen and d) a hot chick. Up until this point, the Universal remake of DEATH RACE 2000 had A-C and today they’ve added Part D. Natalie Martinez has signed on to play the female lead/love interest in Paul WS Anderson’s DEATH RACE (they’ve dropped the 2000 for obvious reasons). Martinez will star as Case, a woman assigned to be navigator to Jason Statham’s Frankenstein (no relation to the “Puttin’ on the Ritz” version). As you might expect, his sweaty biceps and hot stick shift (ahem) quickly make her more than just a co-pilot. Martinez was discovered by Jennifer Lopez and designated the spokesmodel for her J.Lo brand of crap she’s selling. Filming on DEATH RACE, which is produced by Tom Cruise, will begin later this month in Montreal.
