We thought the second trailer we saw for producer Guillermo del Toro's horror-thriller ANTLERS was going to be the last one for the film, but now Fox Searchlight has surprised us by dropping another trailer online. This new preview can be seen above.
The horror debut of director Scott Cooper, whose previous credits include OUT OF THE FURNACE and BLACK MASS, ANTLERS was written by Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson with revisions by Cooper. Based on Antosca's short story The Quiet Boy, the film centers on
a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, who become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
Russell, Plemons, and Thomas are joined in the cast by Graham Greene, Amy Madigan, Scott Haze, and Rory Cochrane.
J. Miles Dale and David S. Goyer produced ANTLERS with del Toro. The film is scheduled to reach theatres on April 17th.
I read Antosca's short story a while back, so I'm interested to see how it works when it's expanded for a feature.
