Denzel Washington turned down a role in Fast and Furious 7

Denzel Washington is one of the few elite actors in Hollywood that can guarantee that even a crappy movie an instant box office success. With 2 GUNS opening this weekend to decent reviews I would guarantee he will have another #1 opening under his belt. But, that is not to say the man will take any gig that comes his way, even a small one in a solid film franchise guaranteed to be a success.

In a frustrating article about the difficulty in creating new franchises, Deadline reported that sourced recently had Universal offering Washington a small role in the upcoming FAST AND FURIOUS 7. With Jason Statham already added to the cast in a post-credits sequence in FAST AND FURIOUS 6, I wonder if Denzel would have been set-up for a possible 8th film. We already know that FAST AND FURIOUS 7 will make over $100 million if the sixth film is any indicator. Adding someone of Denzel Washington‘s caliber would guarantee a heck of a lot more.

It is unknown if James Wan has a surprise up his sleeve that Washington was going to fulfill, but if someone of that level of stardom is getting a part in the film you can guarantee we will let you know when we find out who.

FAST AND FURIOUS 7 opens July 11, 2014. I guarantee it.
