We all knew Johnny Depp was gonna be paid an obscene amount of cash to reprise his role as swashbuckling fey pirate Jack Sparrow in the recently announced PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 but exactly how obscene is that cash? According to the Daily Mail, it’s just about 56 million dollars obscene. And if it’s true, it would mark the highest single lump sum paid to any actor for a role, besting Tom Hanks’ 50 or so million to portray Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon in THE DA VINCI CODE. Holy shitballs, that’s a lotta cash for one movie. Sure, there is no PIRATES franchise without Depp but goddamn!
