Design Antichrist poster

Polemic Danish filmmaker Lars Von Trier’s newest outing is perhaps as polarizing a film as he’s ever put out. People are either in the love with sad beauty of ANTICHRIST, or are irrevocably vexed. Either way, the flick is catching mad buzz in the lead up to its October 23rd limited theatrical release.

Well, the cool creeps over at CHUD have informed of a spiffy little contest they and IFC are brewing where you, yes YOU, can design your own ANTICHRIST poster that if chosen, WILL ACTUALLY BE USED TO PROMOTE THE FILM.

Cool fuc*in’ sauce, no?

Not only that, here’s some additional worthwhile rewards:

1st Prize:

-Signed copy of winning design

-Tickets to see ANTICHRIST in the city of your choice

-Lars Von Trier DVD package

2nd Prize:

-Tickets to see ANTICHRIST in the city of your choice

-IFC Films package

3rd Prize:

-Tickets to see ANTICHRIST in the city of your choice

Here’s the gist, as provided by IFC: Delve into the darker parts of your creativity to create an original poster design for the beautiful and horrifying film, ANTICHRIST. We’re hoping to find a wide variety of contributions that draw from both the stunning visual elements of Oscar winning DP Anthony Dodd Mantle’s work, and the twisted immediacy of Von Trier’s vision.

Submissions should be in digital form (preferably a .pdf file and printable at 27”x40”).

I’m not sure I’ve seen a better poster than the one shown above, what the elegant antiquity yet latent menace. If I had to point anyone in a creative direction, I’d say throw in the unofficial tagline of the film, “Nature is Satan’s Church” – just reading that shit makes my blood curdle.

Have fun!
