Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Well, this is f*cking interesting news! Turns out that THE CONJURING scribes Chad and Carey Hayes have just been hired by 20th Century Fox to pen the newest draft of their upcoming DIE HARD sequel/reboot starring Bruce Willis.

The Len Wiseman-directed sequel is rumored to be "an origin story of sorts, in which we see a younger actor portray McClane as a (relatively) regular cop in 1970s New York" with Willis expected to bookend the movie, which will jump back and forth between past and present.

We will let you know as soon as we hear more on DIE HARD 6 or DIE HARD: YEAR ONE but until then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of the new DIE HARD movie being written by the team behind THE CONJURING in the comments below or on social media!

DIE HARD (1988) synopsis:

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages — but him.
