Die Hart 2: John Cena is among the new actors joining the cast of the Kevin Hart comedy

Quibi, the short-lived mobile-concentrated streaming service, may be gone, but one of its original shows had survived. The show is the action parody, Die Hart, by comedian and actor Kevin Hart. In this comedy, Hart plays himself where he wants to live out his fantasy of being an action hero and enlists the help of John Travolta to teach him the ways of being an action star.

The first season also featured appearances by Josh Hartnett and Nathalie Emmanuel of Game of Thrones and the Fast and Furious franchise. Variety now has the lowdown of new cast members joining for season 2 of the show. Another veteran of the Fast and Furious family, the brother of Dominic Toretto himself, John Cena, will be making an appearance for this season, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog voice actor Ben Schwartz and voice artist and comedic actress Paula Pell.

Emmanuel will be returning to reprise her role, as well as director Eric Appel and writer Tripper Clancy. The show, naturally titled Die Hart 2: Die Harter, has started production in Atlanta. “I’m so happy to be back in Atlanta working with Kevin, Nathalie, and our incredible new cast members. The scope of this second season feels a lot bigger — it’s funnier, it’s more action-packed and our fictional version of Kevin Hart is 100 times more petty and selfish in his ongoing quest to become an ‘authentic’ action hero,” Appel enthusiastically says.

The plot of this season revolves around a concept for a movie that Kevin has developed where the action is unscripted and unpredictable, so when it happens, he has to act on his own wits and instincts to circumnavigate the obstacles. The problem is Kevin unwittingly finds himself in a real conflict with someone from his past, seeking revenge. So, Kevin seeks help from Jordan King, played by Emmanuel, his assistant Andre and his mother, played by Schwartz and Pell, and stuntman Mr. 206, played by Cena.

Die Hart 2: Die Harter will be available for streaming on The Roku Channel, which is a free service with ads. No date has been set.
