Dimenson delays Polaroid

Yes, it seems yet again that the Weinsteins and Dimension are delaying the release of a horror movie. Big news, I know. This time the studio is pushing back their killer-camera flick POLAROID till December.

In the past, the studio has infamously delayed such films as ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE for years and years (literally) and more recently AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING. The latter has been pushed back so many times at this point that they should just keep it up and wait for the film to become some kind of horror movie urban legend or something.

The current plan isn't to bury POLAROID in the vault (aka one of the brothers' closet and/or trunk) but instead, it seems to only be a slight delay (yeah, right) so that some animated movie about bunnies (I assume) called LEAP can snag the fright flick's August 25th release date.

Again, this pushed the killer-camera film to a December 1st opening, because Dimension knows all too well how horror movies do in December at the box-office.

What do you think of Dimension pushing back POLAROID? Do you even care? Are you even the slightest bit surprised? Let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Here is the rundown on POLAROID via press release:

From the producers of THE RING and THE GRUDGE, comes the next iconic horror franchise: POLAROID. High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end. Based on the short by Lars Klevberg, the story mixes elements of THE RING and FINAL DESTINATION to create one of the most unique and scary films.

POLAROID stars Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch and Javier Botet.

POLAROID is set to be released (yeah, right) on December 1st.
