It was just earlier today that we shared the news that Disney is taking a swing at their first 20th Century Fox property in the form of an all-new PLANET OF THE APES film from MAZE RUNNER director Wes Ball. And now we have a few words from Ball himself regarding his approach to the new movie.
He tweets:
I grew up on the original and absolutely love the previous trilogy. I would only do this if I felt I could offer something special while still honoring what’s come before. We have something that’s shaping up to be an awesome chapter to this franchise.

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES was directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Mark Bomback based on characters created by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver based on Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boulle.
