Disney releases the first poster for their live-action Beauty and the Beast

Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. The teaser trailer broke some serious YouTube records in terms of views, and now we have the first poster to go with it!

The poster doesn't stray far from the iconic imagery of the animated film, but that's probably not a bad thing considering the fact that BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is one of Disney's most beloved stories. The film, directed by Bill Condon, stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts. I'd say Disney is pulling out all the stops for this one!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will open in theaters on March 17, 2017.
