Downton Abbey 2, Focus Features, release date, 2022

Don't bother putting the kettle on or sending your fanciest clothes to the tailor just yet. Focus Features has announced that its moving Downton Abbey 2 from December 22 to Friday, March 18, 2022. With key members of the cast returning for the second film, Downton Abbey 2 expects to wrap production sometime in August.

Joining the principal cast for more high society hijinks in the sequel are Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West. Downton creator and Oscar winner Julian Fellowes wrote the script and will produce alongside Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning Gareth Neame and Emmy Award-winning Liz Trubridge.

Released in 2019, Downton Abbey continued the story of the Crawley family, the wealthy owners of a large estate in the English countryside in the early twentieth century. The film ended with a ball the Royal Family could be proud of. When the sequel finally prances into theaters, fans can expect more gorgeous costumes, elaborate set design, and, of course, drama.

Be sure to brush up on your manners before Downton Abbey 2 comes to theaters on March 18, 2022.
