This past weekend spawned some intense SAW VII 3D news that a lot of people have seen coming for quite some time now, it’s only surprising that it’s taken six movies in between to make happen. Lionsgate officially announced that Dr. Gordon, the main dude from SAW played by Cary Elwes, is officially coming back for another round with Jigaw in SAW VII 3D!
We’ve been speculating whether this will happen for years now, thinking that the next one will be the one that will see Elwes come back as the beloved Dr. Gordon. And each time we’re let down… except this time, baby! To add to the SAW VII awesomeness, Lionsgate also announced that Sean Patrick Flannery, best known for his role in the BOONDOCK SAINTS movies and the recently released action flick DEADLY IMPACT, will also be starring in the flick as well. Wow!
Before we get too deep into all this casting madness, how about the official synopsis as it is right now: As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror…
Flannery plays the Bobby character, and obviously Elwes is reprising his role as the survivor from the first film. What’s unknown at this point are what characters from the previous six films will be showing up as, let’s face it, there are hardly ever survivors. But I dig the concept, so lets hope it unfolds welll on the big screen.
Plus, since they’re using the cutting-edge SI-3D digital camera system, I’m kind of excited to see the film in 3D (no conversions, yo!).
Dr. Gordon is back for SAW VII 3D…. it’s like welcoming an old friend back whose been away way too long. SAW VII 3D is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere October 22, 2010. For those taking notes at home, that’s about 6 months from now. They better start crackin’!

SAW VII’s Gina Holden!
