Universal Orlando Resort is expanding with an all-new themed land featuring DreamWorks Animation‘s pantheon of lovable characters! If you think Super Mario World at Universal Studios Hollywood is fun, wait until you experience a kingdom featuring characters from Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, Gabby’s Dollhouse, and more!
The four-acre section of the park will open in 2024. Last month, the family-friendly theme park opened Minions Land, featuring characters from the Minions and Despicable Me film franchise. In January, NBCUniversal announced plans to build a 100-acre park in Frisco, Texas. The Frisco resort is aimed at “younger audiences” and “sized for a regional audience,” with arrangements to add “an adjacent themed hotel.”
The Comcast/NBCUniversal-owned themed park is keeping details a mystery. However, representatives of the park said guests “will share special moments with their favorite characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse and explore themed, interactive play spaces and attractions that bring popular franchises like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda to life in the most imaginatively fun ways.”
DreamWorks Land is bursting with the potential for families to interact with characters from their favorite DreamWorks Animation properties, including How to Train Your Dragon, Home, Puss in Boots, Boss Baby, The Croods, Spirit, Captain Underpants, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, The Bad Guys, Megamind, Madagascar, and more!
DreamWorks Land is Universal’s latest effort to capitalize on its entertainment library by building an interactive world where guests can interact with their favorite animated properties like never before. Imagine Theodore “Ted” Templeton Jr. from Boss Baby telling you you’re not tall enough to experience a specific ride or soaring through the sky with Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon.
