Drew & Salma go South

JoBloJoBlo

Drew Barrymore, The Salma Hayek, Andy Garcia and a host of Latino actors have signed on to voice characters in the upcoming live-action movie SOUTH OF THE BORDER. The film will follow a chihuahua from Beverly Hills (Barrymore) who gets lost while on a vacation in Mexico with her family and must rely on a new group of friends to get her home. Other actors joining the voicework fray are George Lopez, Cheech Marin, Paul Rodriguez, Placido Domingo and Edward James Olmos. The film will feature actual animals animated to look as if they’re talking (a la UNDERDOG). Piper Perabo will play the film’s lead human role – the owner of the chihuahua, desperately tracking her down. Raja Gosnell, who knows a thing or two about shitty movies talking animals from his work on SCOOBY-DOO, will direct the film for Disney.
