Dune: Part Two gets first character posters ahead of March release

Brand new character posters for Dune: Part Two have arrived out of CCXP, giving a look at the highly anticipated sequel due out in March.

If all had worked out as intended, Dune: Part Two would have already been out in theaters. Originally set for an October release, the film was pushed back one month before moving forward in November. Finally, due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, it was given its final and official release date of March 1st. While the wait is still far longer than any of us wanted, we got our first trailer a few months back and now we have brand new character posters which give us a good look at new additions to the franchise like Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and the great Christopher Walken.

IThe poster reveal came ahead of the Dune: Part 2 panel at CCXP in Brazil, with director Denis Villeneuve, along with stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh on-hand.

In addition to returners Chalamet and Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, and more are back in the cast of Dune: Part Two. Joining Butler and Pugh as newcomers are Christopher Walken (playing Pugh’s father – try to figure that one out…), Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, and Tim Blake Nelson.

Dune: Part Two “will explore the mystic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

The first Dune – Villeneueve’s, that is – grossed over $400 million worldwide, making it one of the biggest surprise hits of 2021. It would go on to win the most Oscars of the night, taking home six – although the film didn’t get its proper glory since five of the categories were given out prior to the live broadcast in a highly criticized move. Hopefully Dune: Part Two’s March release won’t have much of an impact on its awards attention since it undoubtedly looks like yet another marvel in the technical categories. And yes, we expect just the same with the rumored third installment
