Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho has been pushed back into 2021

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

There seems to be some sort of time travel element to the story of director Edgar Wright's upcoming "straight-up psychological horror thriller" LAST NIGHT IN SOHO, and now the film has done a bit of time traveling of its own, moving forward into the future. Once set to reach theatres on September 25, 2020, LAST NIGHT IN SOHO has been moved to an unspecified 2021 release date.

Wright was able to complete filming on the project before the COVID-19 shutdown, but the release had to be delayed because the pandemic has impacted the post-production process.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of DON'T LOOK NOW and REPULSION., LAST NIGHT IN SOHO stars Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy as characters named Eloise and Sandy. Much of the film is said to take place in

the London of the Swinging Sixties; a time period with which Eloise is obsessed and, through a mysterious connection with Sandy, gets to experience.

Taylor-Joy has described it as a "well directed acid trip"… and it's going to be a while longer before we get to see it.

Wright wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns. McKenzie and Taylor-Joy's are joined in the cast by Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham.

Wright produced the film with Nira Park and Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
