Yahoo’s posted the theatrical trailer for EL CANTANTE, a biopic in which Marc Anthony stars as legendary Salsa singer Hector Lavoe alongside his real-life spouse Jennifer Lopez who of course plays Lavoe’s wife Puchi (pictured). Haven’t seen the trailer myself but it’s sure to include copious amounts of drug taking, a few heated, possibly violent, arguments between Lavoe and Puchi, a hell of a lot of pretty terrific Salsa, a few moments of quiet desperation and/or suicidal ideation, a lot of emotionally-charged crying and some moments of redemption followed by even more pretty terrific Salsa. If nothing else, you can rest assured that you’ll get some pretty terrific Salsa. Check out the trailer over HERE. The film opens August 3rd.
