EL MARIACHI star Carlos Gallardo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman have teamed up to help bring us REDCON-1, a new zombie film that is now available On Demand and on Blu-ray (you can pick up copies on Amazon or from Epic Pictures Releasing).

Directed by Chee Keong Cheung, who also wrote the screenplay with Steve Horvath and Mark Strange, REDCON-1 has the following synopsis:

After a deadly viral outbreak, an elite squad of special forces soldiers must infiltrate a quarantine zone to rescue a scientist who holds the only cure to save mankind.

Gallardo stars in the film alongside Strange, Oris Erhuero, Katarina Leigh Waters, Martyn Ford, and Joshua Dickinson. Gallardo also served as an executive producer on the film with Eastman and Stephen L'Heureux.

Special features on the Blu-ray release include:

– Interview with Kevin Eastman

– Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes

– Cast & Crew Interviews

– Festival Videos

– Trailer & more!

REDCON-1 looks like it could be a fun time to me, and I definitely want to watch the original Mariachi blast his way through some zombies.
