It’s time for a new episode of our Revisited video series, and with this one we’re taking a moment to pay tribute to one of the most iconic horror hosts of all time, Elvira. The movie we’re covering is the 1988 horror comedy Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (watch it HERE) – the Halloween season seemed like a perfect time to show Elvira some love – and you can find out all about it in the embed above!

Directed by James Signorelli from a screenplay written by Sam Egan, John Paragon, and Cassandra Peterson (a.k.a. Elvira herself), Elvira: Mistress of the Dark has the following synopsis:

The late night TV scream queen of horror makes her debut as a movie star in this manic comedy that is full of laughs. The mega-busted terror queen descends descends upon a conservative Massachusetts town to sell her late aunt’s estate. What ensues is a laugh riot, albeit with more jokes than you can count. From screaming gremlins to campy schtick to witchy graveyard warfare, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is busting at the seams with morbid and monstrous misadventures.

Peterson / Elvira stars alongside W. Morgan Sheppard, Daniel Greene, Jeff Conaway, Susan Kellermann, and Edie McClurg.
