A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET writer Eric Heisserer is talking up a blue streak lately. Earlier today we brought you some of his words on his visions for THE THING and FINAL DESTINATION 5. Now there’s news of another project he’s attached to – which sounds damned interesting.

Speaking with Bloody Disgusting, Heisserer brought up a wild script called INHUMAN that he’s prepared for Fox. “[This is a] script in development limbo over at Fox… Set in Tokyo, it’s about an American FBI profiler on loan, after a killer who seems to be staging his kills exactly like pages from a monster manga. But the profiler discovers that the kills have been happening before the manga is even published, and the evidence on the scenes start to point to one answer: This is a real monster doing the killing… What made it high-concept enough for Fox was the way it switched between anime and live-action. When you’re in the killer’s/monster’s POV, the world is anime.”

Pretty wild, right? I would see the hell out of that movie, although it sounds so ambitious that it’s easy to see why it might not be ready to move forward. It was pitched back in 2007, and Hideo Nakata was attached to direct. Perhaps we’ll hear more on this thing soon…
