Marvel’s Eternals had its red carpet premiere last night in Los Angeles and now Eternals‘ early reactions have arrived online and they praise the film for its story, cast, scope, and proclaim it as one of Marvel’s most unique films.

A lot is riding on Eternals because many feel it’s the MCU’s riskiest gamble yet. It was only back in September that the industry wondered if the film would get an exclusive theatrical release or go day and date with a streaming release as well as they did with Black Widow. After the success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Disney decided to go strictly theatrical, and ever since tickets went on sale for Eternals, the news about the film has become extremely positive. First-day pre-sales were said to be stronger than Black Widow and Shang-Chi and early box office tracking has the film topping both of their openings with a debut north of $100 million. Good reviews will go a long way to make that happen and these early reactions indicate that Marvel has another hit on their hands. You can check out some of the first reactions below!

As per the official synopsis, “Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.”

Eternals is set to have its European premiere as the closing film of the Rome Film Festival on October 24, 2021. The official review embargo for Eternals lifts at 11 a.m. PT on that day so look out for full reviews at that time. Eternals opens exclusively in theaters on November 5, 2021, with a 45-day theatrical release window before hitting Disney+.
