Variety is reporting that Ethan Hawke is about to begin sleeping with the enemy in THE WOMAN IN THE FIFTH, from Polish helmer Pawel Pawlikowski. Kristin Scott Thomas (pictured below) will be co-starring as a woman who might be looking to make mincemeat of his man-meat – but not before doing him a few favors first.

Based on the novel by Douglas Kennedy’s, the thriller revolves around an American who has fled to Paris in the wake of a scandal that cost him his job as a film lecturer at a small university. He takes up with a widow who might be involved in a series of murders, in which the victims are all people who have recently done him wrong…

Haut et Court is producing, while Film4 is co-financing. Memento Films is handling international sales (the film was offered to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin). Filming will begin in March.
