The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 656 title

You thought we were going to wait until after THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY released to start talking about the two films set to follow it? To be fair, so did I

But then EW came along with their four collectible “action pose” covers and the tease of a peek at THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG (Chapter Two) and an actual peek at THERE AND BACK AGAIN (Chapter 3), and that silly assumption of mine was swiftly sunk.  So without further ado, for those of you who collect and/or read EW (or will now), look below for four possible covers for you to discover out there in the wide world.

You’ll notice on the left hand side of the magazine a blurb about a “first look at the next film” – that would be THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, which arrives in cinemas on December 13th, 2013.  Hopefully we’ll have a chance to post a hi-res version of the second film’s reveal soon, but in the meantime feel free to check out the already-released still that boasts a first look at THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN.

Wow, that face… that ugly, disturbingly expressive face… Gollum’s lookin’ good (so to speak)!
