RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is certainly right up there as one of my favourite blockbusters of the year. It exceeded all expectations, and is a damn fine film. Well folks it is finally hitting DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday, and some goodies have been released to get you pumped!
First up is a brand new interactive trailer that you can view HERE. These things are so much fun, and this is the right type of film to have one of these for. The next thing they have launched is a feature where you can actually track where the apes are! This is really fun, and just a great little viral site. Apparently where I live there are 997 apes per square mile! You can scope that out HERE.
Will Rodman, a neuroscientist living in San Francisco is trying to develop a cure for Alzheimer’s disease by testing on chimpanzees, giving them a human level of intelligence. After a test subject’s baby, Caesar, is orphaned, Will decides to raise him at home on his own with his Alzheimer-stricken father. What begins simply as a continuation of his experiment quickly turns into a problem for Will, as Caesar is taken away from him and forced to live in a primate facility. As Caesar’s intelligence continues to grow, he begins to stake his claim as the leader of his new primate counterparts, which will ultimately lead to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES stars James Franco, Freida Pinto (below), John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Tyler Labine, David Hewlett and Andy Serkis. Be sure to pre-order it on DVD HERE and Blu-Ray right HERE.
