I’m not sure how it’s possible but a sports flick starring Jeff Bridges, Justin Timberlake and my not-so-secret love Kate Mara has snuck up on me. The movie, THE OPEN ROAD, opens in theaters later this month and I just started hearing word about it in mid-July. The film stars Timberlake as a minor league baseball player struggling to make it in the shadow of his Hall of Fame father (Bridges). When his mother falls ill, he must return home with his now-estranged father. But in spite of all this heaviness, the film’s a comedy.
