Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Insurgent Star Octavia Spencer

Octavia Spencer has quickly become one of the most accomplished talents working today. With her Academy Award winning performance in THE HELP, she has had continued success in feature films, as well as the series Red Band Society. And now, she is lending her talents to The Divergent Series in the upcoming INSURGENT. The actress, along with a number of incredible cast members including Kate Winslet and Ashley Judd, is a welcome addition to this franchise.

There is nothing quite like sitting down and chatting with somebody like Ms. Spencer. I had the opportunity to meet her years ago, and she hasn't changed at all. She is friendly, funny and kind, her personality is quite a bit infectious. During our conversation we talked about being a fan of this world and working alongside such an exciting group. Octavia is really just a phenomenal actress as well as a terrific person. My only complaint is that she isn't in the movie near enough – perhaps the next one will make up for this. INSURGENT opens this Friday with special Thursday night screenings.
