Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Out of the Furnace Star Casey Affleck!

Over the past few years Casey Affleck has become a favorite of mine. With his scene-stealing work in THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD as well as GONE BABY GONE, he has proven to be a formidable talent. This is especially evident in his latest feature, the intense drama OUT OF THE FURNACE directed by Scott Cooper (CRAZY HEART). As Christian Bale’s troubled brother, he is absolutely stunning.

When I sat down with the actor, we talked about the physicality of the role and of course working opposite Mr. Bale. With a serious yet casual demeanor, he is incredibly polite and very pleasant to talk with. I said it with JESSE JAMES and I’ll say it here, this guy should be getting some serious accolades come Oscar time. OUT OF THE FURNACE opens this coming Friday at a theatre near you.
