THAT AWKWARD MOMENT, a romantic comedy about three guys who have to decide whether or not they're going to continue in the relationships they're in, is writer-director Tom Gormican's directorial debut, though you wouldn't necessarily know it, based on either the quality of the film or the way he handled his first press junket. Intriguingly, he only has one other credit to his name; he worked as a producer on last year's MOVIE 43 (we don't bring that up). Funny and likable, I'm confidant this won't be his last rodeo.

In the interview below, Gormican and I discuss the dynamic cast he put together for the comedy, whether or not they behaved themselves while the ladies were around, Zac Efron's importance as a producer, and the role New York City plays in the film.
