Exclusive: Check out this clip for the trippy female assassin flick Violet & Daisy with Alexis Bledel and Saoirse Ronan

Oscar winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher, who wrote the critically acclaimed PRECIOUS, has followed up with a very unlikely project: VIOLET & DAISY, a trippy female assassin pic starring Alexis Bledel, Saoirse Ronan, James Gandolfini, and Danny Trejo. Today, we have an exclusive look at a clip from the film, which highlights the quirky, surreal nature of the film. It seems to have a dreamlike quality with some crafty dialogue to boot, as demonstrated in the trailer. Ronan and Bledel are a good pair and making them assassins in a wacky, violent, offbeat thriller has a lot of appeal, much like a pulpier version of SUCKERPUNCH.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

Determined to raise cash for some Barbie Sunday dresses, the duo takes on a new hit job targeting a mysterious loner (James Gandolfini) who leads them into an unexpected odyssey of self-examination and catapults the junior enforcers into a world beyond Barbie Sunday and bullets for pay. From Academy Award-winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher (PRECIOUS) comes a mesmerizing hybrid of New York City crime fable and existential coming-of-age drama. In VIOLET & DAISY teenage kicks match wits with adult-world turmoil, placing three wounded souls into a line of fire none expected — themselves.

VIOLET & DAISY is set for a limited theatrical release on June 7, 2013.
