Exclusive: Gerard Butler has a whole lot more to save than the president in this TV spot for Olympus Has Fallen

It’s been said before, but when OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN was originally announced along with the logline, I thought it was another DIE HARD film. Seems perfect for John McClane, right? Well, that’s not what it turned out to be, but it does put Gerard Butler as the leading man in another action flick.

This TV spot for the film gives us as much action as we can handle…AND MORE! Aaron Eckhart is in big trouble, Morgan Freeman is still keeping his cool, and Olympus is still falling. I think this might sell movie fans on the action side a little more, but I’d like to see more from the story. Does that matter? Let’s blow some stuff up!

Check out the spot below!

Synopsis: When the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning’s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President, and avert an even bigger disaster.

OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN hits theaters on March 22, 2013.
