Exclusive: Official poster for Rift, plus a very creepy clip!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

RIFT (Rökkur), director Erlingur Thoroddsen’s follow-up to his feature debut CHILD EATER, is enjoying a very impressive festival run at the moment, having recently played Fantastic Fest in Austin, the Goteburg International Film Festival in Sweden, the Philly Unnamed Film Festival in Pennsylvania and Outfest, where it won the award for Artistic Achievement. It will soon make appearances at the Brooklyn Horror and New Orleans Film Festivals. As might be obvious, it’s a movie making waves on the circuit, and as I’ve personally seen it, I can say the hype is real on this one. It’s an eerie, effective slow-burn with terrific scenery and a couple of very good central performances.

We’ve got a couple of RIFT exclusives to share with you today! Below you’ll find a creepy clip from the film, highlighting one of the more unnerving scenes in it, as well as the official North American poster! (Click to see it bigger.)

Gunner receives a strange phone call from his ex-boyfriend, Einar, months after they broke up. Einar sounds distraught, like he’s about to do something terrible to himself, so Gunnar drives up to the secluded cabin where Einar is holed up and soon discovers that there’s more going on than he imagined. As the two men come to terms with their broken relationship, some other person seems to be lurking outside the cabin, wanting to get in.

Björn Stefánsson, Sigurður Þór Óskarsson, and Guðmundur Ólafsson star in RIFT. Breaking Glass Pictures will release RIFT on VOD/DVD on November 21st, you can pre-order it HERE. Don’t miss it!
