Explore Peacock’s adaptation of Brave New World in new featurette

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The world welcomed a brand-new streaming service just days ago with the launch of Peacock from NBCUniversal. One of the first original programs to debut with the service was Brave New World, an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's groundbreaking sci-fi novel of the same name. Brave New World "imagines a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself." The series stars Alden Ehrenreich as John the Savage, as well as Jessica Brown Findlay as Lenina, Demi Moore as Linda, Harry Lloyd as Bernard Marx, Hannah John-Kamen as Wilhelmina, Sen Mitsuji as Henry Foster, Joseph Morgan as CJack60, Nina Sosanya as Mustafa Mond, and Kylie Bunbury as Frannie. A featurette has been released which takes a peek behind the scenes of the series and reveals how its sets and costumes were designed on scales both grand and intimate.

Our own Alex Maidy reviewed the series, saying that "Brave New World is summer viewing at it's finest: decadent and sexy with just enough depth to keep you engaged during the hottest days of the year. Definitely, for mature audiences, the series doesn't take the source material quite as seriously as it deserved but certainly tells an engaging story for a new generation. The cast looks good even if Alden Ehrenreich seems a bit miscast, but maybe that makes him the perfect fit for the role of a man who cannot find his place in either of the worlds he finds himself a part of." The official synopsis for Brave New World:

Based on Aldous Huxley’s groundbreaking novel, Brave New World imagines a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself. As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage, who escapes with them back to New London. John’s arrival in the New World soon threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to grapple with the repercussions.

Brave New World is now streaming on Peacock.
