We've already seen one clip from Neill Blomkamp's ELYSIUM of the chatty sort and today we have one that gives us a glimpse into the gritty, energetic action that the director is well known for. Matt Damon squares off against a robot owned by William Fichtner, who orders Damon "killed." However, the geared-up Damon has got some interesting firepower at his side and dispenses with the 'bot after a quick malfunction correction. It's chock full of Blomkamp's signature style and gets me all kinds of excited to see his action on the big screen again.

Pretty sweet, no? With Blomkamp's DISTRICT 9 we were treated to a visceral feast of action that felt both real and stylized at once and he's one of the few directors working today that can make action sequences look so engaging. Seeing the director's work stay so consistent (and consistently awesome), it makes me yearn for him to tackle some of the fledgling franchises out there that need new life in a bad way. However, I'm happy to see his original content and look forward to taking in the world that is ELYSIUM.

ELYSIUM hits theaters on August 9, 2013.
