With our recent glowing review of THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES, my excitement went way up for the latest from Derek Cianfrance and Ryan Gosling. Now, we have a pair of clips to go along with the movie.

The film has been getting a lot of positive buzz, which seems to be the norm with a Ryan Gosling movie these days. Bradley Cooper is picking up more and more interesting roles. Between THE WORDS, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, and this film, Cooper may be trying to permanently put his douchebag HANGOVER character behind him for some more serious roles.

Plot: The film powerfully explores the consequences of motorcycle rider Luke (Mr. Gosling)’s fateful decision to commit a crime to support his child. The incident renders him targeted by policeman Avery (Mr. Cooper), and the two men become locked on a tense collision course which will have a devastating impact on both of their families in the years following.

Everything about this movie looks good. While it may not be a sequel to DRIVE, I have a feeling this is going to draw a lot of comparisons seeing as both of the characters played by Gosling are stuntmen.

THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES also stars Rose Byrne, Eva Mendes, Bruce Greenwood, and Ray Liotta. No release date is set beyond sometime in 2013 via Focus Features.
