There’s been quite a dearth of horror news the last two days, so I went dredging deep into the Film Catalogue to see if any cool looking genre flicks are headed our way. I think I may have scored some fresh dope, friends!

Turns out Raphael Jacoulot’s French suspense thriller THE NIGHT CLERK (AVANT L’AUBE) is barreling down the pike, and we’ve got the first plot details and promo poster for the flick. Tell me, does maniacal murder and dastardly cover-ups in the Pyrenees sound like a good time or what?

Starring Sylvie Testud (below), Jean-Pierre Bacri, Ludmilla Mikael, Vincent Rottiers and Xavier Robic – THE NIGHT CLERK picks up when:

Recently paroled, Frédéric, mid-20s, starts working nights at an upscale hotel in the breathtaking Pyrenees mountains. One night, he spots the hotel owner, Jacques Couvreur, and his son concealing a damaged vehicle. When the police investigate the death of a hotel guest, Frederic covers for his boss, who rewards him by promoting him and taking him under his wing. He is moved by Jacques’ paternal attitude and fascinated by his family and lifestyle … until he realizes he is being set up to take the blame for their crimes.

Budgeted at roughly $3 million from TF1 International – THE NIGHT CLERK is being produced in both France and Luxembourg.
