Back in April, we brought along a one-sheet for After Dark’s original flick FERTILE GROUND (check it right HERE); the flick is part of the After Dark/Lionsgate partnership that will bring us eight original films in January 2011 (as opposed to the usual slate of films After Dark only distributes).

Now we’ve got our first look at the film, click the pic to make it larger. That’s Leisha Hailey (“The L Word”), obviously in a state of distress. Or maybe she just chopped up some onions. That’s my expression when I have to cook, let me tell you.

Emily and Nate Weaver leave the city for the rural comfort of Nate’s ancestral home in the country. Once there, Emily is plagued by horrifying visions and haunted by the ghosts inhabiting their isolated new home. When Nate’s behavior undergoes a strange and fearful
metamorphous, Emily fears she might be the latest target in a murderous tradition.

FERTILE GROUND was directed by NIGHT OF THE DEMONS helmer Adam Gierasch and also stars Gale Harold (“Queer as Folk”), Jami Bassman and JoNell Kennedy. The After Dark Originals don’t have a specific date yet, all we know is January. Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
