It's been quite some time since we last heard word on Jack Heller's DARK WAS THE NIGHT, a creature feature that stars Kevin Durand, Lukas Haas, Nick Damici, Sabrina Gadecki, and Heath Freeman. It was way back in March of 2012 that we brought you our Set Visit Preview for the flick, but things have been quiet since then. Now we've learned that DARK WAS THE NIGHT is set to play as part of this years line-up at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles and we've landed the first trailer for the horror tale for ya to check out below.

Written by Tyler Hisel, DARK WAS THE NIGHT centers on…

…the isolated town of Maiden Woods, where a nearby logging company has disrupted the balance of the life in the woods. From the frozen forest, an evil will emerge and threaten the local citizens; their only hope being the local Sheriff and his trusted Deputy.

I'm always up for a new creature feature and this one certainly has a solid cast. I'm curious to hear how this one is received by the audience at Screamfest. Hopefully we'll be hearing a release date for DARK WAS THE NIGHT soon enough. Peep the early trailer below and let us know what you think below.
