First trailer for Despicable Me 2 features more minions, Halloween music, and an alien abduction

JoBloJoBlo

The first trailer for DESPICABLE ME 2 has arrived and it’s pretty obvious they’re banking on the yellow pill-shaped Minions to do the heavy lifting (at least in terms of marketing).  No sign of Steve Carrell, Al Pacino, Kritin Wiig, or Steve Coogan, who are all providing voice talent for new and recurring characters.  Still, you can’t help but giggle a bit at those little bastards.

Have a look:

I enjoyed the first DESPICABLE ME as a film I had to endure with my kid.  And I endure a lot, believe me.  It’s not perfect, nor is it my favorite animated pic to be subjected to, but it’s more fun and playful than some of the more atrocious fare out there.  It’s very likely I’ll sit through this in the theater and I’m fine with that, especially with those little goggled weirdos.

DESPICABLE ME 2 is set to hit on July 3, 2013.
