First trailer for the Straus Bros.’ new thriller Skyline mixes realism with CGI?!?

Four days ago we heard from Greg and Colin Strause, the directorial siblings behind the upcoming alien invasion flick SKYLINE. Their words were met with some new artwork for the film, which looked decent enough, but nowhere near as fulfilling as the new trailer Apple has just premiered. Feel free to scope that shite out below!

What strikes me as odd in the trailer is the way the first part is set-up, a la DISTRICT 9, very realistic and documentary. The second part, when the alien ships are seen landing, the visuals creep into almost laughable CGI hokum. Maybe it’s just the fact these dudes helmed AVP: REQUIEM and I’m still a bit skeptical about their wares. Take a look and let us know what you think.

Flying into theaters November 12th of this year – In the sci-fi thriller Skyline, strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Eric Balfour, Scottie Thomson, David Zayas, Donald Faison, Brittany Daniel (below), Crystal Reed, Neil Hopkins, Pam Levin and Tony Black all assume a role in the flick.
