Focker 3 moves ahead

Actress Teri Polo might have spilled the beans a little early but it turns out that Universal is working on a third MEET THE PARENTS movie. Universal just extended its production deal with Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Productions and one of the first orders of business will be to get working on LITTLE FOCKERS. Larry Stuckey, former assistant to director Jay Roach, will write the script that will follow the (mis)adventures when the young Fockers have their first baby. The studio hopes to reunite De Niro, Ben Stiller, Blythe Danner, Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman and Polo for the sequel. If you’re rolling your eyes at another FOCKER movie keep in mind that the original grossed over $325 million worldwide while the sequel grossed over $500 million. Those are numbers no studio can ignore. The problem may be the busy schedules of those involved. Stiller himself has a number of projects on his immediate plate including THE HARDY MEN with Tom Cruise and his next directorial effort TROPIC THUNDER.
