FORREST GUMP is one of those movies that can be quoted by the masses. Due to its episodic nature, you can pretty much just start it from any point and enjoy it the rest of the way through. That says something about a film, and it’s re-playability. If you never had the chance, or would like to re-experience GUMP in theaters, you’ll have the opportunity to do so come September 5th. Paramount Pictures and IMAX are bringing the seminal film to cinemas for a one-week only affair.

My father, who worked for a radio station at the time, always had the opportunity to check out sneak previews of films. Inevitably, if the film was great, he would drag my sister and I to see it (regardless of the rating, bless his heart). FORREST GUMP was one of those films. While it is now an event of sorts, and removing the popularity and cultural effects it’s had may prove difficult, I would like to go back to that time where it was just a movie and experience it once more.

FORREST GUMP will be released in IMAX theaters for one week only on September 5, 2014.
