Only hours after hearing of Mark Romanek’s involvement in Fox’s supernatural drama “Locke & Key,” we now know who’ll play mother in the mysterious mansion. The one, the only, the sexy…Miranda Otto!

Word is the porcelain skinned Aussie (pictured) will headline the show, playing Nina Locke, protective MILF of three. As you know, the show is adapted from Joe Hill’s comic…produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Josh Friedman (THE BLACK DAHLIA, WAR OF THE WORLDS) adapted the pilot-script, which Mark Romanek is in line to direct.

This comes at an opportune time for Mrs. Otto, who, with only one credit this year (SOUTH SOLIATRY), is probably anxious to sink her teeth into such a plump role. Of course, she’s no stranger to TV, having done work on “Cashmere Mafia,” “The Starter Wife” and “The Way We Live Now” in the last decade alone.

To recap, “Locke & Key” picks up:

After the murder of their father, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke relocate with their mother (Otto) to the family estate of Keyhouse, located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. Sam Lesser, one of the teens who murdered Mr. Locke, is in a juvenile detention center and, by gazing in water, communicates with a supernatural force that promises to free him. Bode Locke, the youngest of the family, uncovers The Ghost Door, which separates his spirit from his body.

More casting briefs are sure to flood in, so keep it anchored!
