Having produced THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT and AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING, Daniel Farrands has now made a film that mashes up the titles of those movies in a way:THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS: A HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND (it was previously known as THE HAUNTING ON LONG ISLAND: THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS).
We learned last September that the film’s cast includes Diane Franklin, who had a role in AMITYVILLE II: THE POSSESSION back in 1982, and now a trailer for THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS reveals that Franklin isn’t the only POSSESSION cast member who has returned to Amityville for this film – Burt Young is in here as well!
Written and directed by Farrands, THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS has the following synopsis:
On the night of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. took a high-powered rifle and murdered his entire family as they slept. At his trial, DeFeo claimed that “voices” in the house commanded him to kill. Thirteen months later, the Lutz family bought the house and stayed only 28 days before fleeing in terror. Their nightmarish ordeal shocked the world in The Amityville Horror. The Lutzes may have escaped from Amityville with their lives … but the DeFeo’s weren’t so lucky. This is their story.
Franklin and Young’s co-stars include John Robinson, Paul Ben-Victor, Lainie Kazan, and Chelsea Ricketts.
